The goal of Le Trench AA is to respond, by one piece, to the need of overcoat in cities. Due to Climat Change , weather in cities can change radically in one day.  Our solution is in one piece, one gesture.

THE BALANCE BETWEEN INDUSTRIALIZATION AND CRAFTSMANSHIP

Hand wax is one core differential from other coats: its impermeability can be renewed and the technique used to waterproof helps to prolong the life of Le Trench AA.

At Atypique Atipico, we believe in applying alternative solutions that come from craftsmanship in order to assure continuity to artisanal know-hows.

ADAPTING TO MARKET DEMANDS: HANDWAX

There are two major client families according to our market analysis. To respond to their demands we put in place two production circuits, each with its distinct “textile hand”:

• Nordic Wax: Generously waxed for demanding weather conditions with an opaque patina. This wax is for connoisseurs of this type of product.

• Continental Wax: Similarly to the breakfast, this wax is lighter and less bold. It corresponds to the “light and softer” touch that can be found in standard trench-coats from renown brands

AESTHETIC FUNCTIONALITY

Le Trench AA is a technical heirloom piece for a professionally established woman. We are currently considering to do a man's version.

It can be worn all year long by overlapping its 3 elements: the overcoat, the removable lining and armless removable waistcoat.

APPLYING A SIMPLIFIED CIRCULAR ECONOMY PROTOCOL THROUGH SOURCING, DESIGN, & PRODUCTION

The main mission of Atypique Atipico is to facilitate the transition towards a sustainable fashion in all. This is why we developed a protocol that can be applied on an existing production line without making structural investments.

PROMOTING ARTISANAL KNOW-HOW

Le Trench AA is waterproofed by wax, which is applied manually after manufacturing. The hand wax is made by European craftsmen, who master the technique since decades This technique also waterproofs the seams.

SLOW FASHION THROUGH A LONG LIFE SPAN

The technique used to waterproof le Trench AA and the Customer Service (rewaxing & repairs), we estimate the piece can last 15 years.  If the care instructions are followed.

MIDNIGHT BLUE

Le Trench AA is only offered in midnight blue.

The fabric of the overcoat is a linen/cotton gabardine in navy blue. After the applied hand wax, the color becomes midnight blue.

With time and use, Le Trench AA acquires a unique patina.

LA DOUBLURE AA

A PRODUCT WITH AN ARTISTIC & POSITIVE ECOLOGICAL FOOTPRINT

La Doublure AA is a platform to promote emerging artists. Every season a new selection of artists will be presented as a limited edition. From one panel printed on silk gabardine, one lining is made. Each removable lining is a numbered piece that has an exclusive design made for Le Trench AA.
